It’s not about conflict! This three-day workshop will focus on identifying scenic tension, building scenic tension, patience, awareness, and surrendering, all in support of “The product of improvisation is the process of improvising.” There will be a guided performance after the final class on Sunday, September 10th.
Limit: 16 Students
Requirements: Regular Attendance at AND’s Improv Programs (comparable to UCB/PIT/Magnet Level 2), or Equivalent Improvisation or Theater Experience
David Razowsky is the respected former artistic director of the Second City Los Angeles, and the host of the podcast ADD Comedy with Dave Razowsky. Over that past couple of years, he’s taught, performed and directed in over a dozen states plus Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Germany, Scotland, England. At Second City David worked with Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Rachel Dratch, Chris Farley, among others. He’s directed Second City Mainstage, Second City Hollywood, Second City Detroit, and The Second City National Touring Company. He is a consultant for Dreamworks, a teacher for Steppenwolf Theater, adjunct faculty for California State University, and has directed two productions for Amsterdam’s Boom Chicago Theatre. David’s a member of the Reduced Shakespeare Company and performed in their Kennedy Center run of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged. David is based in Los Angeles.
